MEET Jessie Cannizzaro

Jessie Cannizzaro is a New York-based actor, writer, and comedian, born and raised in NYC. A casting director once described her as “a cross between Kristen Bell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus,” which Jessie thought was the highest compliment. A quirky and quick-witted character actor, Jessie can be seen on the stage and screen playing sarcastic spitfires and bubbly girls-next-door.

She originated the role of Sally in the hit off-Broadway comedy “Puffs” at New World Stages, which was filmed and screened in movie theaters nationwide via Fathom Events and is now available on Amazon, iTunes, and BroadwayHD.

She was last seen in the world premiere of Ken Ludwig's “The Gods of Comedy” at McCarter and The Old Globe. She starred opposite 2-time Tony-nominee Brad Oscar, and The San Diego Union-Tribune called her a “rising New York star.” Jessie’s face can be seen in multiple national commercials and her voice can be heard everywhere from Audible audiobooks to Nickelodeon cartoons.

Jessie is part of Ars Nova’s inaugural comedy residency. She was a company member at The Flea and an apprentice at Williamstown. She trained at NYC’s Upright Citizens Brigade and London’s British American Drama Academy. Jessie graduated from Swarthmore College with high honors in Theater and Political Science, and from Space Camp with high honors in model rocketry.

Jessie is signed with Seven Summits Pictures & Management for film and TV, Innovative Artists for comedy and commercials, and Stewart Talent for voiceover. Thanks for visiting her website!
